A method is proposed for the calculation of the phase constant \(\gamma\) of the problem rot E\(=ikH\), rot H\(=-ikE\) in a waveguide domain D with boundary condition \([n,E]=0\) and the Floquet condition \(F(r,\phi,z+T)=\ell^{i\gamma}F(r,\phi,z),\) where T is the modulation period of the oblique surface, F is any of the components of the field E or H.
