Normal and tangential flatness (Q579333)

Let (R,M) be a local ring and \(L\subset I\subset M\) two ideals such that R/I is regular and the graded ring \(G_ I(R)\) is free. Then the paper gives equivalent conditions in terms of standard basis for \(G_{I/L}(R/L)\) to be free over R/L. This extends \textit{L. Robbiano}'s result [in Commutative Algebra; Proc. Conf. Trento/Ital. 1981, Lect. Notes Pure Appl. Math. 84, 235-251 (1983; Zbl 0527.13006).
