This paper reviews the results of a study of several aspects of high- dimensional chaos found in a very simple equation obtained as a model of a passive optical resonator system. The model equation we study is \[ (1)\quad \dot x(t)=-x(t)+\mu f(x(t-t_ R)), \] with \[ (2)\quad f(x)=\sin (x-x_ 0)\quad (x_ 0=\text{const.}). \]
