The Lagrange multipliers in the equilibrium finite element method: Error estimates and postprocessing (Q583861)

The author uses Lagrange multipliers to guarantee interelement continuity in the resolution of the biharmonic problem by an equilibrium finite element method. The proof of convergence of the Lagrange multipliers to the displacement and to the normal derivative of the displacement are presented. Postprocessing the solution the Lagrange multipliers are used to provide a better approximation of the continuous displacement.
