A general method of obtaining height two absolute prime ideals is given. This along with a previous result of the author and the method of grade reduction is used to give an example of a three-dimensional local non- Cohen-Macaulay factorial domain of characteristic 0. Previously, S. Mori had given a construction of such a ring using geometrical methods.
