linear sampling method in inverse scattering theory

In this paper the author compares the MUSIC algorithm from signal processing with the linear sampling method in inverse scattering theory. After a brief introduction to MUSIC and its appearance in signal processing its application to a simple model of an inverse scattering problem for time harmonic waves is demonstrated and it is shown that for this particular model it coincides with the linear sampling method. The paper ends with some open questions concerning both of the methods.
