FQMR: A flexible quasi-minimal residual method with inexact preconditioning (English)

A flexible version of the quasi-minimal residual (QMR) method for the solution of large sparse non-Hermitian nonsingular systems of linear equations is formulated. In this new method FQMR the preconditioner can vary from one iteration to the next. Furthermore, a comparison is made between FQMR and the corresponding version of QMR with fixed preconditioner. In many cases the maximal attainable accuracy of FQMR is better than that of QMR.
