A generalized Langevin equation with multiplicative trichotomous noise is considered. The authors establish a very sensitive response of the mean particle displacement to small variations in the noise amplitude at high values of the multiplicative noise flatness. Also, a non-monotonic dependence of the response function on the switching rate of the multiplicative noise is proved.
