This is an excellent and (for many readers) entertaining presentation of higher calculus. The author starts with the ``true'' version of the basics and leads the reader up to Taylor series and to functions of several variables. The thorough treatment of classical vector analysis is followed by the more modern version using the exterior forms of Cartan. This language is finally used to explain the foundations of theoretical mechanics. Many explanatory comments and numerous figures help the reader to understand the topics, and this understanding can be tested by the offered exercises (without solutions). Finally, this book is highly recommendable to many more people than just to young students of physics. For a review of Part 1 of this textbook see [Zbl 0981.00002].
