Introduction to number theory (Q5894842)

This is a slightly revised and updated version of the very successful elementary introduction to number theory. Some new record data for Mersenne primes and for the decimal fraction expansion of \(\pi\) are included as well as a number of further improvements suggested by readers. For a review of the first edition (1988) see Zbl 0646.10001. Let us cite from that review by E. Krätzel: The book gives a clear and simple introduction to the topics, and it will be welcomed by students of number theory. Also, there are many interesting remarks on the history and on the development of new branches of number theory.
