The author studies the normality of a family of meromorphic functions and obtains some normality results for meromorphic functions, which improve and generalize the related results of \textit{Y. Gu} [Scientia Sinica Math. I, 267--274 (1979)], \textit{W. Bergweiler} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 129, No. 1, 121--129 (2001; Zbl 0961.30025)] and \textit{W. C. Lin} and \textit{H. X. Yi} [Acta Math. Sin., Engl. Ser. 21, No. 2, 261--266 (2005; Zbl 1085.30028)].
