It is well known that there does not exist a real hypersurface of a complex projective space with parallel second fundamental form. The main purpose of this paper is to give a characterization of homogeneous real hypersurfaces of type \(A_ 1\), \(A_ 2\) and B in a complex projective space in terms of the derivative of the second fundamental form.
