Kummer theory has been included into the third edition of this textbook (see Zbl 0781.00001 for the first and Zbl 0845.00001 for the second one); in fact, not only the case in which the characteristic does not divide the exponent but also the case of positive characteristic \(p\) and exponents \(p^r\) is studied, which requires the theory of Witt vectors. It is a pleasure to read the respective introductory section.
