This short note gives an overview of proofs concerning the so-called nonclassical CLTs using the Stein-Tikhomirov method. A characterization of central limit behaviour of row sums of a triangular array in terms of the Stein-Tikhomirov operator is formulated. An error estimate for the classical CLT also obtained by this method is stated. No details of the proofs are provided.
