This book is an excellent introduction to statistical methods for data analysis in general, not only in particle physics. The author clearly demonstrated the concepts and theory of statistical methods and their connections with numerous graphs, examples and applications. The contents are well structured, concise and easily understandable. Particular effort was made in illustrating distinct characters of frequency and Bayesian approaches. This book has eight chapters starting from the elementary concepts and migrating gradually to advance applications: 1) Probability theory; 2) Probability distribution functions; 3) Bayesian approach to probability; 4) Random numbers and Monte Carlo methods; 5) Parameter estimate; 6) Confidence intervals; 7) Hypothesis tests and 8) Upper limits which are heavily involved with the particle physics. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in pursuing data analysis in all fields.
