The authors deal with large three-dimensional motions of a horizontal cylinder moored by four mooring lines, modeled as massless springs which resist only tension. Six coupled equations of motion are derived and solved numerically in the case of free vibrations as well as in the case of normal, longitudinal and oblique forcing. The effects of forcing amplitude on deflection, rotation and tension norm are plotted in diagrams. In some cases, chaotic motions are put into evidence.
