Let \(H\) be a Hilbert space with a subspace \(S\). Let \(P\) be the orthogonal projection operator of \(H\) onto \(S\). Further, let \(Q:S\to H\) be a nonlinear operator. Under certain conditions, the equation \(PQx=y\) can be solved by iteration for given \(y\in S\). This general result is used to solve a signal recovery problem in which the transmitted and received signals are distorted bandlimited almost periodic functions. Related signal recovery results are also given.
