Homology 3-spheres bounding acyclic 4-manifolds (Q5929476)

The main result of this paper is that a Seifert fibered homology 3-sphere \(\Sigma(a_1,a_2,\dots, a_n)\) with \(a_1\) even and with odd \(\mu\) invariant has infinite order in the homology cobordism group of homology 3-spheres. The method used is the study of elliptic operators on a 4-dimensional \(V\)-manifold with boundary \(\Sigma\).
