In this paper a decomposition of the null surface into a family of two-surfaces (i.e. wave fronts) is obtained using the light-cone cut function for the three dimensional Minkowski space-time and the locate singularities of the null surfaces constructed in various ways. The null geodesic equations are used in the conformally rescaled version of the Minkowski metric. For the general solutions of the eikonal equations see \textit{V. I. Arnold} [Geometrical methods in the theory of ordinary differential equations (Springer, Berlin) (1983; Zbl 0507.34003)].
