Summary: The main purpose of this paper is to present a common fixed point theorem for a pair of set-valued mappings satisfying a Greguš type condition [\textit{M. Greguš}, Boll. Unione Mat. Ital., V. Ser. A 17, 193-198 (1980; Zbl 0538.47035)]. Our theorem extends results of \textit{M. L. Divicarro}, \textit{B. Fisher} and \textit{S. Sessa} [Publ. Math. 34, 83-89 (1987; Zbl 0634.47051)], of \textit{M. D. Guay}, \textit{K. L. Singh} and \textit{J. H. M. Whitfield} [Bull. Acad. Pol. Sci., Sér. Sci. Math. 30, 545-551 (1982; Zbl 0538.54039)], and of \textit{N. Negoescu} [Bul. Inst. Politeh. Iaşi, Secţ. I 35(39), No. 3/4, 21-25 (1989; Zbl 0708.54035)].
