Simpleness and closedness of circles in compact Hermitian symmetric spaces (Q5933590)

Circles in Riemannian symmetric space are described as the solutions of a system of ordinary first-order differential equations. The closedness and simpleness properties of three types of circles in compact Hermitian symmetric spaces are investigated. There are found many open holomorphic circles and non-simple circles. In a compact Riemannian symmetric space of rank one there exist no non-simple circles and no open holomorphic circles.
