This paper is devoted to the relation between the Kaplan-Yorke dimension in large thermostat systems and their physical properties such as the transport coefficients in a nonequilibrium stationary state. Such a relation allows to estimate the Kaplan-Yorke dimension from measurement of the transport coefficient. As a consequence they obtain a new relation between a dynamical quantity (the Kaplan-Yorke dimension) and a physical quantity (the transport coefficient). Note that the agreement with computer simulations for an atomic field at small shear rates is very good.
