The author derives an interesting and important estimate on the coating thickness for a liquid being drawn from a bath. This formula is based on numerical calculations and on asymptotic expansions of solutions of appropriate linearizations of an equation considered in the lubrication theory. In the second part, the author studies the substrates that are not perfectly wetted. It turns out that no perfect wetting implies to stop the stress-driven flow. This result is in good agreement with experimental results.
