Let \(G\) be a finite group and \(p\) a prime. It is known that the poset of nontrivial \(p\)-subgroups of \(G\) is disconnected if and only if \(G\) contains a strongly \(p\)-embedded subgroup. The author proves an analogue of this result for blocks.
