A flow line is a tandem system of machines separated by storage areas (called also buffers) though which a stream of items flows from one machine to the next. A continuous flow line consists of \(n\) machines and \(n-1\) intermediate buffers of finite capacity. The main results are in the second part which is dedicated to decay rates. The theoretical results are followed by a number of illustrative numerical examples, and an alternative method is presented.
