This paper deals with a general inhomogeneous Schrödinger equation with arbitrary right-hand side and homogeneous boundary conditions. The solution of this problem is found as an expansion in terms of the \(R\)-matrix basis functions. The obtained solution is written in an integral form with Green's function for the homogeneous problem as the kernel. Finally, the authors demonstrate the effectiveness of the method using an analytical model of dissociative attachment in collision between electrons and HI molecules.
