The authors introduce specific relative entropy \(h(\mu_+,\mu_-)\) in Anosov systems and prove that it is identical to the entropy production rate \(\ell_p(\mu_+)\) defined by Ruelle and Gallavotti in Anosov systems. It is ``allowed'' to say that, the entropy production rate \(\ell_p(\mu_+)\) characterizes the degree of macroscopic irreversibility of the system.
