For a given cohomologically tame polynomial \(f: C^n \to C\) \((n \leq 2)\), the determinant of a period matrix for the Gauss-Manin system of \(f\) is calculated. Motivated by studying the Riemmann-Hilbert problem for this system, the paper also obtains a formula for the trace of the residue matrices, as the Gauss-Manin connexion is Fuchsian.
