Taking into account nonlinear prebuckling deformations and initial geometric imperfections, the author studies the influence of hygrothermal effects on buckling and postbuckling of composite laminated cylindrical shells subjected to axial compresssion. A boundary layer theory of shell buckling and singular perturbation technique are used to determine buckling loads and postbuckling equilibrium paths.
