The considered approximation essentially employs a discretization of energy variables allowing particles to jump from one energy group to another (contiguous or not) by means of interactions with field particles. The authors propose a revised version of multigroup approach to nonlinear Boltzmann equation, which meets all requirements and relaxed restrictions.
