The author considers a system of equations with wave- and beam operators with linear coupling and damping. The essential tool in this paper is the topological degree. He obtains a new bifurcation result for a system of equations. He gives a variant of the classical result, where he replaces the eigenvalue of the differential operator by a more general set of parameters. The results given in this note are of a local nature.
