The solvability of nonlinear output regulation problems is studied. The main result is a proof that there exists a feedforward neural network that can approximate the feedforward function up to a prescribed arbitrarily small error. The performance analysis is extended to the output feedback case. An application of the proposed approach to the ball and beam system is given as well.
