The author presents some facts concerning Lipschitzian maps in Banach space. In particular it is shown that the Lipschitz constant of a Lipschitzian retraction of the ball in an infinite-dimensional Banach space onto its sphere is greater than or equal to \(3\) in every equivalent norm. Some open problems are posed.
