The authors analyze axisymmetric buckling and postbuckling of laminated moderately thick shallow conical caps under uniformly distributed static transverse load. Geometrically nonlinear first-order shear deformation theory of Marguerre type is presented in terms of transverse deflection \(w\), rotation \(\Psi\) of the normal to the midsurface, and stress function \(\Phi\) as polynomials of radial coordinate \(r\). The governing equations are discretized by orthogonal point-collocation method, and then the resulting discretized nonlinear algebraic equations are solved by Newton-Kantorovich method.
