Plane waves in thermoelasticity with one relaxation time (Q5945301)

The author's study the thermoelastic interations in an elastic halfspace. They employ the thermoelastic equations with one relaxation time developed by Lord and Shulman to solve these kind of problems. To this end they use the Laplace transform, which leads to find the general solution and then solutions to the problems of ramp-type. Explicit expressions for temperature and stress are obtained for small values of time. Numerical values of stress and temperature are calculated and displayed graphically.
