This book presents the various strands of the new growth literature, including the expanding product variety, the quality ladder, the AK model and the learning-by-doing, human capital approaches. The strength of the book is in its unified presentation. On the other hand, the author does not go much beyond the presentation and analytical derivation of the results. Economic intuition is present and of high quality, but dribbled in minuscule amounts. The book presents the author's original contribution in terms of an elaborate multisector intermediate inputs sector. There are several books giving a very good account of the new growth literature, such as \textit{P. Aghion} and \textit{P. Howitt} [Endogenous growth theory. 3rd printing, Cambridge (Mass.), MIT Press (1999)] or \textit{R. J. Barro} and \textit{J. Sala-I-Martin} [Econ. growth. 3rd printing, Cambridge (Mass.), MIT Press (2001)]. In terms of scope, intuition and presentation, I can only recommend this book over its competitors to those that are specifically interested in the original contribution the author.
