The author considers a complete, simply-connected Riemannian manifold \(M\) having constant scalar curvature, whose tangent bundle \(T(M)\) is provided with the complete lift metric. It is proven that if \(T(M)\) admits an essential conformal transformation, then \(M\) is isometric to the standard sphere. The introduction contains a valuable overview of the topic.
