The author introduces an equivalence relation between fuzzy groups treated as homologous mappings on a base group. This leads to some analogies with homological algebra. Certain earlier results of \textit{W. Wu} [Fuzzy Math. 1, No. 1, 21-30 (1981)] and \textit{P. Bhattacharya, N. P. Mukherjee} [Inf. Sci. 39, 247-267 (1986; Zbl 0613.20001); ibid. 41, 77-91 (1987; Zbl 0623.20001)] concerning fuzzy normal groups, normalizers and centralizers of fuzzy groups are presented in this new setting.
