Problems of information systems development are discussed. A new three-component approach to the problem is proposed. The basic idea of the three-component approach consists of dividing each visual component into three separate components: a visual component (form), a functional component (business object), an information component (store). Some advantages of the new approach are demonstrated by several examples.
