The authors extend the results presented by one of the authors [\textit{C. H. Cooke}, ibid. 35, No. 5, 79-81 (1998; Zbl 0910.15007)]. In that paper, conditions under which a real matrix is the adjoint matrix of another real matrix were found, answering the question posed by \textit{W. P. Wardlow} [Problem 1334, Mathematics Magazine 62, No. 5, 343 (1989)] for a particular \(3\times 3\) real matrix. The extension presented in the current paper deals with generalized problem where several actions of the adjoint matrix operator are considered.
