The logarithmic derivative is used to combine different approaches for the classical derivation operator. This method and its applications are exposed in detail in the author's monograph [Logarithms and antilogarithms. An algebraic analysis approach (Kluwer Academic Publishers, Dordrecht) (1998; Zbl 0898.46002)]. The present paper contains basic notions, definitions and theorems (mostly without proofs) concerning logarithms and antilogarithms. In the last section, a generalization of the binomial theorem for harmonic logarithms is given.
