The author investigates a linear squares method for ill-conditioned problems and applies it to two inverse problems. NEWLINENEWLINEThe reviewer thinks that the author is not aware of the literature in inverse and ill-posed problems and made no contribution to the fields. Further, some of his statements are quite inappropriate, for example, his first sentence ``Since the appearance of the first inverse heat transfer problem and the first inverse vibration problem \(\dots\)'' in the introduction is not acceptable, Theorem 1 is absurd, and the reasoning that the equation (16) has a unique solution ``according to the linear system theory'' (p. 688) is obscure.
