The issue contains papers of the \(8^{\text{th}}\) International Colloquium on Quantum Groups. At the Colloquium 42 talks were presented, out which 34 were submitted to Czechoslovak Journal of Physics and are published in the present issue. The articles of this volume will be reviewed individually. The preceding colloquium (7, 1998) has been reviewed (see Zbl 0944.00046).
