The author studies the detonation process in terms of classical Zeldovich-Neumann-Döring model. The detonation is represented by a complex of a shock wave and a continuous burning zone with reversible exothermic reaction. Discovered is the possibility of existence of a self-sustaining detonation differing from Chapman-Jouget detonation.
