The authors consider a suspension constructed by infinite repetition of a fundamental cell containing \(N\) randomly placed rigid spheres. The ensemble averages of fluid pressure and velocity field are presented. The mathematical model offers a possibility for direct numerical simulation of unbounded suspensions. A correlation for the lift-off of many particles in two dimensions is obtained from numerical data.
