A note on the irreducible characters of the Hecke algebra \(H_n(q)\) (Q5952910)

This paper is dealing with a method to determine the irreducible characters of the Hecke algebra \(H_n(q)\) of type \(A_{n-1}\). There are already a number of algorithms or methods available in the literature to determine these characters [e.g. \textit{A. Ram}, Invent. Math. 106, No. 3, 461-488 (1991; Zbl 0758.05099)]. The typical feature of the formula discussed in this paper is that it gives the desired character as a linear combination of simple characters of \(S_n\), where the coefficients of the linear combination are \(q\)-dependent. In his approach, the author uses an expression deduced by A. Ram, and manipulates this formula to get the result.
