The author considers one approach to the problem of elastic moderation of neutrons from a monoenergetic point source of unit power in a homogeneous medium. This approach is based on the a priori extraction of delta-like singularities in energy and reduction of the integro-differential equation of the neutron transfer to the system of differential equations for the regular part of the collision density.
