Nonlinear monotone finite-difference schemes developed for the multi dimensional transport equation are considered. The transport equation is written in characteristic form. The schemes are constructed by involving the regularization principle for finite-difference schemes. Some test results obtained by applying this new class of nonlinear monotone schemes to model one- and two-dimensional problems are presented.
