The authors study the orbits of massive and massless particle in the gravitational field of the sun modified by a conical defect. They generalize an earlier result obtained by \textit{J. N. Islam} [Phys. Lett. A 97, 239-241 (1983)] to the case of a pure cosmological constant. By using the experimental data they obtain that the parameter characterizing the conical defect is less than \(10^{-9}\) and \(10^{-7}\), respectively, on the length scales associated with such phenomena.
