The author considers the injection of incompressible viscous fluid in a curved pipe with a smooth central curve. An asymptotic one-dimensional model is obtained via singular perturbation of Navier-Stokes system with vanishing ratio between the cross-section diameter and the pipe length. An asymptotic expansion of the flow field exhibits boundary layers near the ends of the pipe, for which the author derives error estimates.
